After enjoying their first Christmas as a couple,Maisie SmithandMax Georgechose to see in the New Year in style in New York City.
Posting a series of snaps from the city break to their Instagram pages, the formerEastendersstar, 21, andThe Wantedsinger, 34, seemed as loved-up as ever as they celebrated the start of 2023 across the pond.
Sporting a tonal ensemble, Maisie paired a long fur-trimmed puffer coat with a beige cardigan and brown cargo pants in a stylish pic posted to her Instagram with the caption: “live laugh love”. Althoughfans were left confused by her seemingly odd choice of shoes.
She also posted a picture of Max posing in front of a mirror at a clothing store in the city, wearing a denim and chequered patched shirt paired with a baseball hat.
The actress was also pictured indulging in a sweet treat at Dunkin Donuts with a donut in one hand and an iced coffee in the other.
Over on her stories, Maisie and George shared a kiss with the caption: “NYE in NYC” followed by a love heart emoji. The couple flew to New York after spending Christmas in Essex with Maisie's family , marking their sixth holiday together just months after making their relationship public.
Max and Maisie celebrated their first Christmas together in Lewes, East Sussex, joined by Maisie’s mum Julia and her sister Scarlett.
Julia took to Instagram to share a sneak peek into the family’s special celebrations, writing: "Christmas was extra special this year #besttimes #familygoals," with a red heart emoji.
After becoming close on the Strictly Come Dancing live tour, the couple made their relationship official earlier this year. Although Max and Maisie made their love public on Instagram in September, their13-year age differencehas drawn some negative attention.
Appearing on Loose Women to defend their romance, Maisie said: “The people that we allow in our lives are happy.” She added that her mum approved of the relationship, saying: "Mam has never seen me so happy. That’s all that matters to me."
Max described the negative comments as "a shame," adding: "I think they [critics] are trying to make it look like I've done something wrong.
"And I find that a little bit sad they do that, because it kind of drives people to jump on that.”
Revealing how their relationship developed from just a friendship to something more, Maisie said: "We've known each other for two years he's always been a good friend. I always get nervous for interviews.
"I remember I was pacing, thinking 'what if I could go blank?' He was the only person who could zen me. We've always had a nice bond and trust.”
