Delving into the behind the scenes of this year’s Love Island contestants’ time in the villa is certainly a time consuming thing to do.
Luckily, on hand to share some insight this year has been season 5’sAmy Hartwho answered some behind the scenes questions including what happens when thegirls have their periodsand what the contestants dowhen they need the toilet .
Also on hand to delve into the Love Island villa life was former winter contestant Callum Jones who spoke to OK! all about what the Islanders really eat and that they have to cook their own breakfast.
One breakfast in particular caught fans’ eyes as Ikenna made Indiyah a meal while showing off the inside of the Islanders’ fridge.
The fridge was stocked with plenty of usual items such as juices, fruit, even a huge pineapple, but it was the top shelf that left Love Island viewers laughing.
It appeared to be a shelf of what looked like Freeway drinks, ranging from cola to lemon-flavoured fizzy cans, leaving some viewers in hysterics that the villa was not stocking up on “brand name coke”.
One fan wrote: “The highlight of Love Island tonight was seen the fridge full of Lidl’s own brand cans of Coke. Davide drinking Freeway cola.”
Another fan asked: “Why’s Love Island fridge stocked with Aldi freeway,”
A third tweeted: “No way is their fridge full of Freeway cola, I would SNAP. Get me some brand name coke plz.”
Meanwhile, other viewers were shocked to see Ikenna leave the fridge door wide open while he was busy cooking.
One commented: “Ikenna, close the damn fridge!! Has nobody told this boy about the cost of living increase?!”
Another fan wrote: “Running a few minutes behind… HOW YOU LEAVING THE FRIDGE OPEN????… in that heat???? That’s the sort of “common sense” that really grinds my gears!”
Fellow fans wrote: “Not my mum yelling at the tv because Ikenna left the fridge door open,”
Another echoed: “If my mum saw me leaving the fridge open like that while cooking…"
While it's unclear what exactly Ikenna was cooking for breakfast,Callum did share what the Islanders atewhen he was in the villa.
“The only thing we made for ourselves was breakfast and for that there was limited choice. There were always things like eggs, avocado, toast and cereal, though – your typical breakfast foods,” he explains.
Between meal times, contestants are well catered for too, with the villa’s fridge and larder remaining full of goodies and snacks.
“Our larder, fridge and freezer were topped up with hummus, biscuits, cereal and ice lollies,” Callum explains.
