Vanessa Feltz is flaunting her glamorous transformation, after slimming down thanks to a ‘broken heart diet’ following her split from her cheating fiancé.

The presenter, 61, who has lost 2st since splitting from Ben Ofoedu, flaunted her toned figure at the Best Heroes Awards in London this week as she posed for photographs in a silvery frock, embellished with embroidery.

Her trim silhouette, tanned skin and confident pose signalled a new look for the TV star who has in past been candid about her challenges with her weight, especially after discovering her ex’s infidelity.

She has over the years fluctuated between sizes – from 10 and 22 – and even underwent a gastric band surgery that led to life-threatening complications.

In August, Vanessa admitted she ‘hadn’t eaten in months’ after Ben ‘broke her heart’.

Reflecting on the split as she appeared on Celebs Go Dating, the TV presenter claimed her weight loss has been one upside of the split.

Vanessa and Ben called it quits in January amid claims he had been unfaithful and exchanged ‘sex texts’ with another woman, which he later confirmed.

She said: ‘I haven’t eaten in months as I’ve been so heartbroken. That’s the silver lining from a broken heart.’

In June the star – who in past described being overweight as being stuck in ‘your own personal jail’ – detailed her tumultuous relationship with weight loss.

The broadcaster has battled with her body image in the past, with her weight yo-yoing when she dieted for 18 month periods, but was unable to keep it off.

Radio host Vanessa described the ‘turmoil’ of dieting as soul destroying, admitting she was only able to finally keep her weight off after undergoing a gastric bypass.

She spoke to The Sun in favour of weight-loss jabs such as Ozempic, beloved by Hollywood A-listers, which had been given the green light to be offered on the NHS to Brits struggling to slim down.

Wishing she’d had something similar to help her when she was first trying to slim down more than 20 years ago, Vanessa said: ‘Sometimes dieting, or barely eating anything for a year, can feel like a punitive stint in prison with no chance of parole.

Vanessa first slimmed from a size 22 to a size 10 between 1999 and 2000 but later put the weight back on.

She lost 2st in 2004 but gained it again, and 2007 she dropped 3st but it all returned and she ended up back at a size 22.

In 2010 she had a gastric band fitted which made her stomach smaller and Vanessa said she learned to eat in a different way.

She was not able to eat large amounts of solid food but she could consume softer substances, such as ice cream.

The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate said she ate ‘thousands of calories’ and sabotaged the operation she’d paid for.

In 2019, she suffered complications when it became embedded in her liver and needed surgery to remove it.

Following the procedure, Vanessa spent some time in intensive care due to complications.

Once removed, she opted for a gastric bypass, which saw a small pouch created in the stomach and connected to the small intestine, bypassing the rest of the stomach.

The procedure led to her losing a further 5st and she has kept the weight off since.

She is now a size 12-14 and eats less, finding herself much more able to control her portion sizes.

Despite her recent transformation, Vanessa recently admitted she wouldn’t wish the upsetting circumstances of her weight loss on anyone. Pictured in May

Vanessa insists a lot her overeating was due to her mental state, adding that once she’d had her surgical procedures she was comparable to late footballer George Best who continued to drink alcohol despite having had a liver transplant.

Despite her recent transformation, Vanessa recently admitted she wouldn’t wish the upsetting circumstances of her weight loss on anyone.

The presenter had opened up to Ed Balls and Ranvir Singh about her post-breakup body during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.

When Ranvir told Vanessa that she looked ‘amazing’, Vanessa said: ‘Well this is the broken heart diet, I don’t recommend it, no one should have this.’

Speaking to OK! Magazine earlier this year however, the star appeared to be on the path to a stronger and more confident self.

She had told the outlet she was feeling a lot better five months after her split because she’s over the initial shock of Ben’s betrayal.
