After pulling out of Coachella and skipping last week’s Grammys troubled rapper Kanye West is deciding where he wants to go to treatment to be a “better human and better dad.”
He has his team looking at places “with a luxury component,” a source tells Page Six.
According to a source, “West’s team has been looking at treatment facilities for him.” Explaining that, “he wants to enter a behavioral treatment center to be a better human and a better dad.”
Last week, Page Six reported that West told ex-wife Kim Kardashian that “he’s going away to get help” after his harassment of her and boyfriend Pete Davidson on social media.
A source told us, “For the sake of the kids, Kanye has told Kim he’s not making any public appearances or inflammatory social media statements, and he will go away somewhere to get better.”
A rep for West told Page Six, “At this time, Ye is committed to a healthy co-parenting relationship with Kim and is focused on raising their beautiful children.” They have not replied to request for comment on this story.
While the hunt is on for the perfect facility, our source tell us, “Kanye hasn’t agreed to a particular place yet because he is worried for his privacy and wants the place to be in a beautiful setting with a luxury component.”
We hear potentials discussed include upscale spots in Arizona, Thailand and Bali.
This follows an erratic month in which West dragged Kardashian on Instagram, claiming she wasn’t allowing him to see their children — which she denied, saying he wanted to “beat Pete Davidson’s ass” in a song and releasing a disturbing music video of the “SNL” star being buried alive.
Now we are told West, who has publicly struggled with bipolar disorder, is back taking his medication.
West was hospitalized in 2016 and had to cancel the remainder of his “Saint Pablo Tour” dates. In 2020, he publicly called Kris Jenner “Kris Jong-Un,” and claimed they were trying to hold him for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization.
Kardashian said at the time, “As many of you know, Kanye has [bipolar] disorder. Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words [sometimes] do not align with his intentions.”
Kardashian recently said on “Good Morning America,” about West’s use of social media, “You wanna take the high road, and sometimes it’s hard. But I think that at the end of the day, everyone has their own way of communicating. I’ve always been, like, a champion of him speaking his truth, and I would always want that.”
And she stated, “Kanye and I will always be family. At the end of the day, I just want my kids to be happy and healthy, and think the world of their dad, and they do.”
