Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand continues to grow and expand, and considering some of its customers swear the products are life saving, it’s not hard to see why.
Earlier this month, a woman’s TikTok went viral as she claimed her SKIMS bodysuit kept her from bleeding out after she was shot four times.
Angelina Wiley says she was targeted in an attack on New Year’s Day earlier this year by a masked gun man. But she’s thankful to have been wearing SKIMS shapewear underneath, as the bodysuit was so tight it controlled the bleeding.

Her TikTok has been viewed over a million times, and it even caught the attention of Kim, who reshared the clip on her social media with a series of praying hand emojis.
Shortly after Angelina posted her TikTok, the news broke that SKIMS has reached a $4 billion valuation after Kim secured $270 million in new funding, which is an even more impressive feat when considering the brand is only 4 years old.
“It has grown quickly, and we’re so proud of that,” Kim said of the accomplishment. “We’ve had a really good flow of product launches.”
Kim originally launched the shapewear brand in 2019, and it’s expanded to carry a variety of clothing pieces, from bathing suits to loungewear. SKIMS plans to expand into men’s clothing in the fall.
It’s clear that SKIMS value will continue to expand, and not just because the company is growing its product line. Earlier this month, SKIMS confirmed it’s opening its first flagship store in the U.S.

The company is currently gearing up to open an in-person storefront in Los Angeles at the beginning of 2024.
It’s apparently already secured a retail space, which will provide over 5,000 square feet. The store will be located on Sunset Boulevard, close to stores like Supreme and Kilth.
“Kim and I can envision a future where years from today there’s a Skims store anywhere in the world you’d find an Apple store or a Nike store,” Jens Grede, the SKIMS’ co-founder and chief executive officer, said of the expansion.
“It marks the second chapter,” she continued. “Our strategy going forward is to open important stores in the world’s most important cities.”
This will apparently be the first store of many, as SKIMS is also looking to open up retail locations in several other American locations by the end of 2024. Eventually, the brand also hopes to open stores in locations outside of the U.S., and is considering Paris and Hong Kong.
