A hero who ripped a 5ft whale tusk off a wall and charged at knifeman Usman Khan was being treated in hospital for stab wounds last night.
The Polish-born chef, named only as Luckasz, works in the kitchen at Fishmongers’ Hall, where Khan began his rampage on Friday.
Luckasz’s unlikely weapon was one of two narwhal horns hanging on the wall there. A work-mate said: “The staff have been asked not to say too much, but I have his number and he’s still in hospital.”
Luckasz is one of several people who risked their lives to bring down the London Bridge maniac.

Khan, 28, was attending a prison rehabilitation event after being released with an electronic tag from a jail term for terror offences.
Armed with two blades and wearing a fake bomb vest, he killed two people, including Cambridge graduate Jack Merritt, 25.
Outside the venue, video shared online showed one man running at the killer spraying a fire extinguisher at him to stun and subdue him.

Another who dived in to help was convicted murderer James Ford, 42, who was on the same course as Khan.
It emerged that Ford had been jailed in 2004 for murdering a 21-year-old woman with learning difficulties in Ashford, Kent. The trio wrestled Khan to the ground as others waded in.
A plain-clothes police officer carried a knife away before armed officers moved in and shot Khan.
Tour guide Thomas Gray and his colleague Stevie Hurst told how they left their vehicles to help subdue Khan.
Mr Gray, 24, said the knifeman had one blade duct-taped to his hand and he stamped on his wrist in an effort to disarm him.
He said: “I did what any Londoner would do and tried to put a stop to it.”
Mr Hurst, 32, said: “I jumped in and kicked him in the head to make him release his knife. A few others did so.
“He was shouting, ‘get off me, get off me’. Police arrived so quickly.
“They told us, ‘get the f*** back’. They had rifles. They put three rounds into him. We wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to harm another single human being.”
