Martin Lewis warns Mothercare customers to use gift cards now in ‘urgent’ post

Martin Lewis has issued an update on Mothercare gift cards.

The store announced it had gone into administration recently, leaving many wondering if they could still use their gift cards.

And now the money saving expert has revealed the exact date Mothercare will stop accepting them.

In an "urgent" Twitter post, the financial guru warned customers to use the gift cards immediately to avoid missing out.

Those with a Mothercare card have until midnight tonight [13 November, 2019] to use their gift cards.

In a tweet, Martin told his followers: "Urgent. Spread word to anyone with a Mothercare gift card, the 'in administration' retailer will stop accepting gift cards at midnight tonight.

"So if you've got one, use it now…"

He then left a link to the Mothercare website, where a customer notice has been issued.

It reads: "Gift cards will be an accepted method of payment until midnight tonight.

"Thereafter gift cards will not be accepted."

The news comes after Mothercare launched an "everything must go" sale to get rid of stock.

On its website, the retailer announced the closing down sale with a huge yellow sign.
