McDonald’s fans convinced it’s changing logo after cryptic post with animation

McDonald's caused quite a frenzy on Instagram after a cryptic post on Tuesday.

Now we all know the fast food giant is famous for its iconic Golden Arches logo.

But posting on social media this week, people were left stunned by what they thought was a change to the logo.

In a clip on the McDonald's UK Instagram page, where it boasts 281,000 followers, the chain shared a short clip.

It featured the Golden Arches with a wider and spaced out "M" that we're all used to seeing.

An animation of the logo showed the wider and spaced out logo morph back into the original one.

The short animation also features an audio clip which sounds similar to the start of Flo Rida's Turn Around (5,4,3,2,1).

The post was shared on the McDonald's UK page so if there was a logo change it would be limited to just here.

McDonald's were trying to be cryptic about the post as the caption featured just the open eye emoji.

It racked up over 46,000 views and hundreds of comments with one writing: "It's finally happening… best marketing ever!"

Another added: "Great logo 10/10," although a third commented: "This better not be your new logo."

Others were slightly baffled as one posted: "What? I'm so confused," and a second asked: "What is this?"

Also Instagram users took up the opportunity to ask for their favourite meals to return to the menu.

One said: "Chicken legend please," and a second posted: "Please bring back the McSpicy."

A third joked: "Don't bring anything back, just let me have a freakin' milkshake."

Mirror Online asked McDonald's what its plans are, but the chain said to keep our eyes peeled over the next few days.

We wonder what the whole fuss is about at McDonald's then, but we're excited either way!

In other news, McDonald's announced its new menu which launched on January 4.
