Speaking to Variety and its audiences, Meghan appeared in a short YouTube clip, where she is seen answering some of the questions asked of her in the interview. It seems the Duchess is being interviewed at home, in the Montecito mansion she shares with Prince Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet.

In the video, Meghan starts by talking about her favourite board games and goes on to mention the TV programmes she watches with her children.

Her facial expressions are animated and she sounds joyful when she speaks about her nights in flicking through TV channels with her husband.

Body language expert Judi James analysed these facial expressions and body language techniques further, suggesting that the Duchess wanted people to see how “nice” she is via this clip.

Judi told Express.co.uk: “After showing us her campaigning side and her feminist ideals, and her ability to be critical of the royals, as well as a woman sadly made miserable by experiences of her own past, Meghan’s body language here looks like a charm offensive and PR pop for her softer side.”

The body language expert continued: “Giggling naughtily, performing coy smiles and even rolling her eyes at her own behaviour, Meghan performs acts of likeability and ingratiation, seeming keen to prove how nice, how cute and how sweet she really is.

“She’s a ‘mom’ here, a pouty model and a ‘girly girl’ – loving rom-coms and apparently proving her point that women should not feel the need to be seen in one mode alone.”

Speaking to the Mirror, Judi added that Meghan seemed as if she was auditioning for a rom-com during this YouTube clip.

She said: “Meghan channels Julia Roberts with the giggling laugh that is part-concealed behind her hand like Roberts’ classic look in Pretty Woman.”

Judi added that this is “cheesy Meghan who just enjoys ‘looking at my kid’, and the woman who shares so much of the pain in her life is smiling in a gesture of perfect happiness as she now says we should all ‘enjoy what time we have'”.

She continued: “Meghan’s vocal tone is like a parent talking fondly to a child or a young woman to her best friends.

“The more intellectual body language is missing, although, as she says, no woman should be ‘one note’ so this ‘lightweight’ body language is just an option.

“Overall she looks like she’s on a casting for the next big rom-com, with excited smiles and frequent giggles to match.”

Meghan begins the filmed interview by talking about her love for board games, saying: “Hi, I’m Meghan and I play a mean game of Scrabble, especially timed Scrabble.

“It’s something that I’ve lived for a long time. I’m very good at Jeopardy, and I love to cook. I don’t know if a lot of people know that, maybe they do. But I also make a really solid bolognese sauce.”

She continued: “I think within the industry what we can do to help pay it forward for the generation coming up next is really to implement policies that are going to help families within the industry be able to have the balance to take care of their families, and to be able to do their jobs.

“A high tide raises all ships, so if you can really adopt that motto, and understand that by helping the peopel who are coming up, it’s not taking anything away from you, it’s just helping more people succeed. I think that’s really key.”

As for her appearance, Meghan had let her hair down in natural wave and wore minimal make-up.

She had put on a little bronzer, burnt orange eyeshadow, and lashings of black mascara. The Duchess wore pink lipstick.

Meghan donned a black long-sleeved top with a v-neckline and a pair of small gold earrings.

The Duchess often wears black, and did so to be photographed on the cover of Variety. For the shoot, Meghan wore a black sleeveless dress and a statement gold choker.
