The evening that all fashion lovers (and those who aren't) have been waiting for returned to New York on Monday evening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and that was the Met Gala.
For those who don't know what that is, its an evening where a whole host of famous faces come together to raise important funds for the museums costume institute.
This year's theme was titled 'In America: A Lexicon of Fashion' which aims to celebrate all things America.
Celebrities, models, sports personalities descended on to the carpet of the much-anticipated event and let's just say it wasn't without some weird and wonderful looks.
Kim Kardashian to Harry Styles – here are the most popular Met Gala outfits to date
Billie Eilish
Let's start with someone who completely took our breath away as she stepped out on to the grand staircase, Billie Eilish.
Opting to ditch her signature oversize t-shirt and trousers for a dramatic Cinderella-inspired ballgown, the singer transformed for the star-studded event.
Channelling her inner Marilyn Monroe, Billie ticked all of the style boxes with this incredible look.
Kim Petras
Another look which caught our eyes and we're still wondering about the meaning behind it, is pop singer Kim Petra's horse dress – yes, that is a horse head, you're not imagining things.
The questionable outfit was designed and created by Collina Strada and whilst we love the floral dress itself, we can't see past the giant animal head on her chest.
She even swapped her blonde hair for a literal red ponytail.
Daniel Levy
Schitts Creek actor Daniel Levy has always kept it cool with his style so when we saw him arrive in a oversized puff sleeve top and trousers outfit which was patterned with maps, we knew he meant business.
Upon first glance the ensemble looked slightly garish but as we admired it more, we love the detail of the two figures kissing and the gathered detail on the sleeves.
Iman
A lady who is no stranger to high fashion and couture is supermodel Iman.
The 66-year-old strutted her way up the staircase into the gala wearing a bespoke outfit by designer Harris Reed.
The outfit compromised of a strapless gold top and trouser look which was then overlaid with a dramatic and spectacular skirt and matching gold feathered hat that made sure to command everyones attention.
Megan Fox
When it comes to Megan Fox and her style, she never fails to impress, much like her sheer dress at the VMAs on Sunday evening.
Well, the Hollywood actress continued the risqué theme at the Met Gala in a red lace up dress by designer Dundas that was fully embellished with crystals and sequins.
The 35-year-old swapped her mermaid waves for a tight ponytail and block fringe.
Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian chose to change things up by donning a head-to-toe black bodysuit which hid her identity from everyone.
Whilst the outfit itself is quite chic, most people were left wondering if she had got the wrong dress code.
Fans were quick to share their opinions as one tweeted "Met gala is just another fancy dress thing where kim kardashian has dressed like dementor from harry potter."
Kendall Jenner
As one Kardashian left us with questions, another left us speechless for other reasons and that was the stunning Kendall Jenner.
We're no strangers to the model pulling off fabulous outfits but this custom Givenchy dress just hit the nail on the head.
Oozing elegance in a heavy crystal embellished sheer gown, Kendal definitely gave everyone a lesson in how to win big at the Met Gala.
Frank Ocean
Singer Frank Ocean is known for making statements, whether it's in his music or when he is out and about.
However, when he turned up carrying a small robotic child to the Met Gala as his date, we didn't know how to react.
We're huge fans of his sleek Prada suit, it's definitely safe to say, this is one way to make a statement on the carpet.
Rihanna & ASAP Rocky
As Rihanna sported a voluminous ruffle overcoat, boyfriend ASAP Rocky looked like he forgot to set his alarm and rolled out of bed onto the staircase in a patchwork duvet.
But it's ok, as after a few pictures, the rapper dropped the cosy cover and looked dapper in a tailored suit.
Lil Nas X
American Rapper Lil Nas X has taken the fashion world by storm by breaking down gender binaries with his style.
So when we saw him sport not one, but three seriously impressive looks at the Met Gala, we jumped for joy.
Reminding us of Lady Gaga's four outfit changes back in 2019, Lil Nas X definitely gave Gaga a run for her money with this incredible gold Versace ensembles.
