There are lots of seemingly boring cleaning jobs that some of us just enjoy doing.
Some like the ironing, others like to vacuum, but no-one likes cleaning the loo.
This particularly grubby chore often feels thankless, particularly when someone runs to use it 10 minutes after you’re done.
There are some mums though, who have come up with an ingenious hack to add a little sweetness to the job.
Cleaning mad mums have begun pouring fabric softener into their toilet tanks to make sure their lab smells fresh with every flush.
One such woman, an American on Instagram posted to say that we should be “pouring a cup [230ml] of laundry detergent in the tank of the toilet" which will sink to the bottom.

She wrote: "Each time you flush, a sweet aroma will be released in the tank, and the whole bathroom will smell amazing."
It works because when you flush, the water mixed with softener will be pulled into the the bowl causing the aroma to be released into the room.
The post has proven popular and has gained 2,900 likes on Facebook and 17,000 comments with many users wanting to know how it works.
Unfortunately, some of the members of the Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It group were not convinced by the hack.
One said: “You can see the mess it leaves in the washing machine drawer – it will definitely clog. It’s a no from me.”
Another wrote: “It’s bad for the loo to put that down the back just keep that sort of thing for the washing machine.”
A third said: “You will definitely be calling a plumber and they can be expensive!
“Stick to products that should be used for the loo.”

One woman cited her own experience and claimed: “I put some in a spray bottle diluted, forgot it was there.
“Some time later I found it, it had separated and let a thick greasy deposit around the side of the bottle which i couldn’t get off without hard scrubbing.”
She added: “It went in the bin. So no, I wouldn’t put it in my loo.”
