The outspoken presenter has previously made headlines after joining others in a complaint about BBC salaries.

Naga was one of more than 100 female employees at the BBC who made complaints against the corporation over equal pay in 2017.

In an interview with the Guardian, Naga confirmed that she, Louise Minchin, Dan Walker and Charlie Stayt are all paid equally, which was not the case before the complaint.

When the BBC published details of all presenters that earned over £150,000 in 2018,  Naga Munchetty was in the £190,000 – £194,999 bracket.

“I was supported greatly by my family and friends and by my colleagues at the BBC.

“I’m not a victim in any shape or form. I think there was a process that needed to be gone through.

“I think lessons have been learned and things are improving. We’re learning all the time – the BBC learns, I learn, move on.”
