U.K. experiential company Secret Cinema are set to host their first Regency ball — a “Bridgerton” ball, to be exact.
The company has teamed up with Netflix, Shondaland and events outfit Fever to bring the hit period drama to life this November.
Fans of the show will be able to choose a title, don a dress and step into the world of the Duke of Hastings and his ilk.
As well as a ballroom, where a string quartet will play re-arranged pop classics, guests will be given dance cards to fill out and love tokens to exchange. There will also be a light show, provided by The Lumiere Brothers, allowing guests to mingle with projected images of their favourite and relive their best “Bridgerton” moments.
In keeping with Secret Cinema’s ‘choose your own adventure’-style experience, guests will each experience a different version of the event, choosing between the dancefloor and a variety of side rooms where they can learn skills including life drawing, card-playing and boxing.
Secret Cinema, which has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic, has previously collaborated with Netflix on a “Stranger Things” drive-through experience in Los Angeles, which ran last year.
Previously they have recreated the sets of “Star Wars,” “28 Days Later” and Baz Luhrman’s “Moulin Rouge!” among others. As well as Los Angeles and London, the company has also put on events in China, launching with a James Bond-themed “Casino Royale” event in 2019.
In an exclusive interview earlier this month, Secret Cinema CEO Max Alexander told Variety the company also plans to move into music, children’s and gaming experiences, as well as original content in the future.
