Orlando Bloom has a new furry friend in his life.
The “Lord of the Rings” star revealed on Instagram Monday that he is fostering a puppy named Buddy, four months after the death of his dog Mighty.
“Nothing can replace mighty man, but fostering this little guy has really filled my heart,” Bloom, 43, wrote. “If you’ve never fostered or are considering, I’d highly recommend it – it leaves two beings better off & remember what they say never judge a book by its cover.”
In July, Mighty went missing and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star pleaded on social media for help in finding him.
However, less than a week later, Bloom shared that they had found his beloved pooch’s collar and he was dead.
“I have wept more this week than I thought possible, which has been very cathartic and healing,” he said at the time, adding, “I feel so grateful to have learned from my little Mighty man that love is eternal and the true meaning of devotion.”
Bloom told a fan on Monday that while he is just fostering Buddy, he “can’t see” himself giving him up.
He added, “Good thing about fostering is you can see if there’s a connect cos that’s all it’s about for me.”
