Multi-millionaire Simon Cowell, who previously said he would never get married, is finally ready to take the next big step as he proposed to his long time girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, with a $3.4 million ring. Cowell who currently has an estimated net worth of $600 million had a big budget for the engagement ring he bought for Silverman.
The ring that the English television personality and entrepreneur used to pop the question was initially assumed to have cost him about $3,400,000 which is already the highest value celebrity ring used for proposal since 2021. The news came following the recent celebrity engagement such as Machine Gun Kelly proposing to Megan Fox with a custom $400,000 ring and Maya Jama receiving a $1.1 million diamond engagement ring from Australian professional basketball player Ben Simmons.

The couple have been together for thirteen years and actually met in Barbados in 2004. The proposal that took place was said to be an intimate event for their family as no other family and friends were present. The music mogul did confirm that he proposed to Silverman over the holidays. According to reports, Simon is not the type to marry however he realized that Lauren is the woman of his dreams and decided to put a ring on it. Lauren was reportedly stunned by the proposal as she did not expected Simon to ever pop the question; never in a million years would she see it coming.

The proposal took place on Christmas Eve during their vacation in Barbados where their seven year old son Eric and Silverman’s older son Adam is with them. According to reports, Simon made sure that the kids were there during the proposal as he adored the kids and is happy with the family that they have become. Silverman reportedly cried upon seeing Simon proposing and said yes straight away.
Although a lot of people did not expect Cowell to ever pop the question including his good friend Amanda Holden, another good friend of his, Heidi Klum, said that it is not at all surprising that Cowell proposed after eight years of being together. The first sighting for the said ring was when Lauren was spotted wearing a huge diamond ring while taking a stroll at Malibu.
