IT’S nice to feed your feathered friends in winter – and I’ve found some great deals going cheep.

To encourage the birds to visit your garden and to help them survive the season, here’s how to feed them tasty treats on a budget.

MEAL DEAL: The Original Factory Shop has cut the price of its mealworm feed (500g) from £11.99 to £8.

This high-quality buy is a fantastic source of essential fat.

NEST PRICE: Argos has an offer on its stylish black metal bird feeder stake, complete with metal birds perched on either edge.

It’s now £7, down from £12.

FED AND WATERED: Remember to provide our feathered friends with fresh water too.

This is especially important in frosty periods, when ponds, puddles and other water sources may freeze over.

WINDOW ON THE WORLD: Not having a garden doesn’t mean having to miss out.
