Swap usual drinks for valued versions of your summer tipple | The Sun

IT’S time to raise a glass to sunny days, and that means swapping your usual drink for a summer tipple.

But whether it’s a mojito or a hard seltzer you love, switch those pricey spirits for these discounted dupes . . .

PERFECT PIMM’S: A glass of Pimm’s is the ultimate cooling summer tipple. A litre of the gin-based drink is £16 at Asda, but check the lower shelves for the ultimate copycat.

The Summer Cup is £7.50 for 70cl and tastes just like the original — not bad for less than half the price.

ALTERNATIVE APEROL: Bring a taste of Italy to your home with an aperitivo hour that includes an Aperol spritz. A bottle of the essential Aperol is reduced from £16 to £13 for 70cl at Morrisons.

However, Aperini Aperitif tastes the same and is £6.99 for 70cl at Aldi. Just add a glass of Superiore prosecco DOCG for £7.99 and a dash of soda water for the perfect spritz.

MOJIT-WOAH: Mix up a mojito with a bottle of Bacardi white rum, £15.50 for 70cl at Iceland, a spoonful of sugar, a dash of soda water and make sure you have fresh mint to hand (50p per pack at Sainsbury’s).

Or you could save some money by looking out for Iceland’s Paradise Bay Cocktail Co mojito, £2.99 (70cl). Serve over crushed ice, just by adding ice cubes to a blender.

ALCO SELTZER: Sales of hard seltzers have soared this year, thanks to the high alcohol content and low sugar (therefore low calorie) benefits of the drink. Popular White Claw seltzers come in at £2.50 per can at Tesco.

But switch for Lidl’s new own-brand hard seltzers (25cl) in cherry or lemon and lime flavour — they’re only 85p each.
