Tesco shoppers spot surprise bargains on kids clothes with items scanning for just 4p

TESCO shoppers have spotted surprise bargains in-store on a range of kids clothes.

Some parents have found clothes are scanning through tills for just 4p – but they only find out about the discount at the checkout.

Tesco shoppers have found that plenty of old Christmas and last season stock has been marked down in price.

The items are already in the sale and have red reduction stickers on them.

Parents have been sharing the surprise bargains on Facebook page Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.

One shopper picked up a 6-9months dress and tights set in a festive Tatty Teddy print from the supermarket.

She said: "I thought this was a bargain at £6. That's until I got to the checkout and it scanned at 4p! It made my day."

Another said: "This kids Xmas jumper from Tesco was reduced from £10 to £1 but it scanned through the till at 4p! Safe to say, I'm very happy with that."

A third said: "In Tesco and I picked up a wee suit for my great niece who’s arriving in June. However when I scanned it, it came up at 4p! In the end I got four Disney suits for just 16p."

Not everybody managed to snag a 4p bargain, though prices were still cheap as chips.

One shopper said: "I found a bargain on the infants sales racks at Tesco today. It rang up for £4.50."

The bargain in question, a Disney Minnie Mouse raincoat for up to 3years, was originally £14, before being struck with a red reduction sticker for £9.

The final £4.50 scanned price didn't pop up until it was on the checkout screen when the shopper came to pay.

We've asked Tesco just how many of the bargains are lurking in stores waiting to be snapped up, and we'll update this story once we know more.

The supermarket has launched a major baby and toddler event in-store alongside the reduced stock too.

Prices can vary between stores, and often it'll take a good rifle through the discount rails to find the best deals – so keep in mind that you might not always luck out.

As most of the cheapest bargains are old Christmas goodies, they'll sell-out fast and once they're gone you'll have to wait for next Christmas to roll around to cash in again.

It's worth having a shop around too, as rival stores might have their own low prices to shop.
