This is the reason the Queen doesn’t carry a passport…or have a driving licence

THE Queen may have been to 116 countries around the world – but one thing she never has to pack is her passport.

While everyone else has to stand in line at customs, Her Majesty can just breeze through as she doesn't have to even own one.

And not only that, she never has to take any travel documents or prove her identity to immigration officials.

This is because exceptions are always made for the reigning British monarch, when they travel as passport are actually issued in her name.

On the Royal Family website, it explains: "When travelling overseas, The Queen does not require a British passport.

"Her Britannic Majesty's Secretary of State requests and requires in the name of Her Majesty all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may be necessary.

“As a British passport is issued in the name of Her Majesty, it is unnecessary for The Queen to possess one.”

However, the other members of her family, including Prince Philip and Prince Charles aren't so lucky as they are required to have a passport.

But a passport isn't the only official document the Queen is never required to have.

The 91-year-old has never had a driving licence because they too are issued in her name.
