The Royal Family were out in force this morning as they headed to church for their annual Christmas Day service.
The Queen, Prince Charles, Camilla, Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and other members of the Firm were all smiles as they braved the cold and walked into St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.
Well-wishers lined the pavement to catch a glimpse of the family, but there were two faces missing from the line up – Meghan Markle and Prince Harry .
The Sussex family skipped the Royal celebrations this year, instead spending the holiday – their first with son Archie – in Canada.
The palace announced that Meghan and Harry had turned down the Queen's invitation to spend Christmas at Sandringham last month, and last week revealed they would be spending the day in Canada.
The palace aide said: "The decision to base themselves in Canada reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both.
"The Duke of Sussex has been a frequent visitor to Canada over many years, and it was also home to The Duchess for seven years before she became a member of the Royal Family.
"They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son."
Meghan and Harry, who have spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, are following in Kate and William's footsteps by skipping the royal celebrations.
The Cambridges have also given it a miss in the past to spend the day with the Middleton family in 2012 and 2016.
On the second occasion they were seen walking to Kate's local church with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, with the older tot sucking on a candy cane as they left.
Harry also missed Christmas in 2012 as he was on active duty in Afghanistan.
However Meghan and Harry's decision to turn down the Queen's invitation has been heavily criticised by fans.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Piers Morgan said: "It is a clear snub to the Queen."
Sir Rod Stewart also spoke out about the news, saying that at 93 the Monarch may not have many left.
He said: "The Queen is 93. I flew round the world to be with my mum and dad at Christmas because I knew they didn’t have many left.
"I was disappointed Harry and Meghan decided not to spend Christmas with the Queen.
"If I was Harry, I’d think there was plenty of time in the future to have Christmases on my own or with Meghan’s mum."
More unusually, Meghan and Harry missed the Queen's Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace last week, which is normally her chance to catch up with members of the family not travelling to Norfolk.
The Cambridges, Tindalls, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were all spotted arriving at the Monach's London home, along with Prince Andrew just weeks after he was sacked from royal duties.
The Sussexes are currently enjoying a six-week break and some "much needed family time", including a trip to the US to see Meghan's mum Doria.
