When choosing an outfit for a flight, most people go for comfort and what works for your destination's weather.
However, your outfit could play a bigger role in your journey; for example, certain clothes could mean an upgrade to First Class.
On the flip side, wear something that breaks the unofficial dress code rules, and you could find that you're not allowed to get on board.
Although most airlines don't have official rules, passengers have been known to be banned from their flight because of their outfit choice.
While it can be a grey area, according to one airline worker, there is one outfit choice that almost guarantees you'll be stopped at the boarding gate.
The airline worker explained on Reddit : "Don't wear shirts with obscene words. We can't board you to the airplane with a shirt that says a bad word. You will probably have to change it as it might offend another passenger."
Of course most passengers will avoid wearing something with an offensive slogan anyway – but if you have a shirt you want to wear and you're unsure if it could be deemed offensive, you're best to play it safe and leave it at home.
Slogans with rude language aren't the only items of clothing which could get you banned.
In fact, we've put together a guide on what you can and can't wear on a flight . Although these aren't official rules, following the guidelines could be key when you arrive at the airport.
(It's also worth noting that the rules tend to be a little more relaxed in Economy, but if you're flying Business or First Class you may want to opt for smart rather than casual outfits to be on the safe side).
After all, who wants to miss out on a holiday for the sake of a wearing a specific T-shirt?!
