Disney World is a popular family holiday destination for Brits – however there are many aspects to consider before choosing when to go and where to stay.
One of which being American holidays that wouldn’t usually cross our minds.
A British woman planning a trip to Disney World Orlando has shared a full breakdown of the cost of her holiday, including why the dates she chose meant the prices were higher.
Sarah from the Midlands, who goes by @unitedkingdomofdisney on TikTok, regularly shares tips and tricks to getting your perfect magical holiday for a cheap price.
However, she recently slipped up by not realising she’d booked her trip during Thanksgiving week – she shared a price breakdown with her 14,000 followers.

She said ‘It’s time to answer the question everyone wants to know – how much did your Disney trip cost?
‘I get asked this a lot and I see it being asked in groups on Facebook quite a lot, so I thought there’s no secrets here – let’s share.
‘I’m gonna break down what I’m spending on an upcoming trip to Walt Disney World.
‘It is in 43 days, it is through the Thanksgiving period in the states which does play with the prices a little bit as it does get busier at Disney World and we are travelling from the UK.
‘Okay, so this for a trip for 10 nights, heading out towards the end of November, it is in Thanksgiving week, which I did not realise when I booked it – and it is staying at Pop Century which is an on-site value hotel.
‘Flights are direct and they are from London Heathrow, direct to Orlando and this price includes our park tickets.
Adding ‘We have got the seven for fourteen day magic tickets for Disney World, this does not include any Universal tickets, Discovery Cove, nothing like that, we’re just doing Disney on this trip.
‘So the grand total that we have paid for two adults because we don’t have any children, is £4,062.70.’

She advised ‘We did book during the dining and merch credit offer and because we’re staying at a value hotel, you get the lowest amount of that offer.
‘So we get a $200 Disney gift card and we also get $360 dining and merchandise credit.
‘You receive those as an e-voucher on arrival once you check into the hotel – you’ll get two emails with those vouchers in and I actually had these in June.
‘They were really handy because you can add them to Apple pay to pay using your phone in the parks.
‘We use our vouchers for food and drinks mainly, we didn’t really spend it on any merch and that’s probably what we’re going to do on this trip in November too.’
Moving on to the topic of spending money, the Disney fan explained ‘ I see a lot of figures being thrown around that are like £100 per day per person or $200 a day.
‘In all honesty it’s really up to you and the kind of people you are. If you want to do a sit down meal every day, you’re gonna spend considerably more than if you’re people who want to get into those quick services and those booths at Epcot which I highly recommend.
‘Our $560 credit that we receive as part of the detail will pay for at least a weeks worth of our food and drinks to be honest.

‘We don’t eat a lot while we’re there, we don’t really have great appetites in the heat but we love trying different snacks, different quick service, the food booths at Epcot.
‘So we’ll do that and then just top it up as we need to.’
In an attempt to make her feel better about the dates, one user commented ‘We stayed last year for Thanksgiving in Universal and loved every minute of it. Enjoy the magic at Disney.’
Sarah questioned ‘How did you find the crowds?’ to which the commenter replied ‘As soon as Thanksgiving weekend had finished absolutely amazing’.
Another viewer wrote ‘We go 25th November and are staying at Pop aswell!!!’ and the TikToker responded ‘Omg see you there!! You’re smarter than me and have booked for the quiet bit after thanksgiving craziness though!’
Someone else said ‘I find that is expensive’ and Sarah replied ‘Prices have definitely gone up this year. We pay less in the first half of the year but wanted to do Christmas’.
