Serial stowaway who flew 30 times without ticket is arrested AGAIN for trying to enter airport

A WOMAN who was caught flying more than 30 times without a plane ticket has been arrested AGAIN after being caught heading to the airport.

Marilyn Hartman, 69, first made the headlines in 2018 after she was caught sneaking through Chicago O'Hare airport security to board a flight to London, only to be detained in the UK.

According to Metro, from 2002 until 2018, Ms Hartman took 30 flights without buying a ticket, including to Copenhagen, Paris, California, Las Vegas and London.

She also made several failed attempts though, resulting in multiple arrests, and became notorious among airport security staff who would radio each other with 'Marilyn sightings.'

She was bailed following the 2018 incident, but was then caught again at Chicago O'Hare in 2019, when was held in custody on charges of burglary, criminal trespassing and probation violation.

She spent 500 days in Cook County Jail, where she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, something that she is now receiving treatment for.

Ms Hartman, who has been wearing an electronic monitoring device while on bail, was caught heading to Chicago Airport again, and was arrested again on March 16.

Cook County Sherrif's Office said in a statement, according to CNN: "Staff attempted to contact Hartman using the phone built into the device, but Hartman did not answer.

"Electronic Monitoring Unit Investigators found that her device indicated she was traveling in the direction of O'Hare International Airport."

She has now been detained back at Cook County jail with the local authorities seeking approval to charge Ms Hartman with felony escape.

During her time in prison, she previously told fellow prisoners how she managed to sneak onto the flights without a ticket.

She said: "I have never been able to board a plane by myself. I was always let through. I mean I was able to go through the security line without a boarding pass.

"I got by them, this is the thing that is so crazy, by following someone they would be carrying like a blue bag. And the next thing I know, I get into the TSA line and TSA lets me through, and they think I’m with the guy with the blue bag."

She previously said she is hopeful that her bipolar medication will stop her trying to board any more flights illegally, telling Metro: "I want the opportunity to apologise to the people I’ve hurt."

In 2019, another woman managed to board a Delta flight without a boarding pass or ticket.

Last year, a teenager was able to get through airport security in the US "using a drinks coupon" despite having no boarding pass or ID.
