ONE of the worst aspects of flying is having to put up with the strangers you end up sitting next to.
However, at least one airline has made things much worse with a seat configuration that people have described as "a nightmare".
The best way to get through a flight is often to keep yourself to yourself, either by looking out of the window, or watching something on the plane's entertainment system.
That wasn't possible for one passenger, who was stunned to get on her flight to discover that she was not only sitting next to a stranger, but also face-to-face with one too.
Tiktoker Megan Homme (@meganhomme) simply asked "WHY" after she got aboard a plane in Sweden to discover the unique seat set up, with sections of four chairs, two facing backwards and two forwards.
She shared footage of the seats on her Tiktok with a video that left people desperate to avoid being in the same situation in the future.

More than nine million people have since seen the footage, with plenty of them unimpressed with the idea.
One wrote: "Absolutely not. I'll swim."
Another said: "What on earth airline was this so I can avoid it in the future?"
A third simply described it as "An actual nightmare".

Megan said the airline was a small regional one in Sweden, allaying some people's fears of ending up in a similar situation.
One person said they'd experienced the seating on a flight more than 20 years ago and that they still weren't over the experience.
They commented: "I flew facing the back of the plane on Southwest in like 2000 and I’m still dizzy from that flight."
The video proves that not all planes have the same seat setups, so it's worthwhile looking up information on the cabins before flying.
One way people can do that is by using sites like SeatGuru, which provides airline seating maps, but also allows passengers to leave comments on individual seats, highlighting any problems.
It's a site that Inside Hook have advocated for passengers looking to avoid certain situations on flights, including being sat in a dreaded windowless window seat.
They said: "I’m a sworn devotee of SeatGuru — and using the service can do wonders to improve your onboard life by avoiding many such situations.
"Be sure to take a few moments and go beyond the seating chart the airline provides to research the specific plane sub-model and seat configuration in question if you hope to avoid the ordeal."
The Sydney Morning Herald released a series of seats that are known to be windowless on each airline, but also provided another recommendation for SeatGuru to double check.
They said: "If you fly with easyJet, the windowless perches are at the back, rather than in the middle. Seat 31A, to be precise, for those on its A320 aircraft, and seat 26A and 26F on its A319s.
"It isn't just budget carriers affected. BA's A380s have a clutch of window seats with restricted or non-existent views: 70A and 70K, in economy."
