If it wasn’t already clear that Doja Cat is in her era of experimentation, allow her latest Fashion Week look to be proof. On Jan. 23, the rapper attended the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2023 show in Paris looking like an actual jewel, which seemed to be the point.
For the occasion, Doja Cat was covered in over 30,000 Swarovski crystals, starting from her head, going down to her chest, and continuing to her arms. Inspired by the epic poem “Inferno,” the look, which was done by celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath and her team, was a monochromatic dream. After first painting her red, coordinating crystals were placed all over her body. She then got into her couture Schiaparelli ensemble, consisting of a silk faille bustier and a hand-knit skirt with lacquered wooden beads to bring it all together.
This look is the latest in a string of head-turning moments courtesy of the rapper. Since proclaiming that she was never meant to have hair and promptly shaving her head and eyebrows, Doja Cat has seemingly reached a different level of creativity with her beauty looks. Last year’s Paris Fashion Week looks ranged from intricate graphic eyeliner to eyebrow studs and face paint, taking the internet by storm each time.
