Katy Rickitt took to social media today to share details about her TV return next week. The wife of former Coronation Street star Adam Rickitt left her role at Good Morning Britain last week, in order to spend six months fronting the news for ITV Calendar in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

She posted a picture of herself on set ahead of her first live appearance.

“Coming to a small screen near you next week!” Katy captioned the snap, which she shared with her 12,400 followers.

Many took the comment section of her post to share their thoughts and to wish her luck.

“Whoop whoop,” one follower wrote alongside a hands in the air emoji.

“Good luck Katy x,” another added.

“Lovely photo Katy and I have to say you are one awesome lady,” a third fan gushed.

The news correspondent, who was regularly seen reporting for GMB, has worked for ITV since 2008.

She announced her departure from the show last month.

“Breaking News!” she wrote online, next to a photo of herself in the Good Morning Britain studio.

“Really excited to share with you that from the week after next I’m heading over to @itvcalendar to be their main presenter for 6 months!”

An additional image showed her in the middle of a river in fishing waders, presumably during a past news report.

“Aside from ditching fishing waders for frocks, more importantly it is a real honour and privilege to present a show I grew up watching and to be entrusted to relay all the daily hard work of a really incredible team to a county I’ll always call home,” she added.

Talking about her Good Morning Britain co-stars she said: “I’ll really miss the team there except when they’re waking me up in the early hours!

“To those who’ve joined me early doors, thanks as always for all your support,” she signed off.

Many of her colleagues rushed to congratulate her.

“Congratulations! Fantastic news – but we’ll miss you,” wrote Susanna Reid.

“Oh my goodness – congratulations. That’s so exciting. You’ll be brilliant,” added weather presenter Laura Tobin.

“Congratulations lovely!” another co-worker added.

“I will miss our 4am briefing chats – you really are one of the friendliest correspondents to wake up for work! Good luck.”
