Alex Scott calls for Neil Jones to get a ‘more experienced’ partner after Strictly exit

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 star Alex Scott, 35, took to Instagram to gush over her time with Neil Jones, 37, on the BBC show. She shared a collage of pictures of the pair alongside a lengthy statement in view of her 340,000 followers.

She wrote: “From day one we were partnered together I said it was ‘OUR’ journey you put your heart and soul into making sure I enjoyed every single moment and I sure did!

“You really did work magic.. getting a complete beginner and taking us as far as we did.

“Not only did you teach.. you listened, you understood you cared. I’m so proud that I had the privilege to be your 1st ever partner on the show.”

The football pundit went on to say she hoped Neil gets a celebrity partner with “more experience” next year.

She added: “Wishing next year you get someone with a little bit more experience so you can really show off how amazing you are, ha.

“@mr_njonesofficial your really are a special human being… keep shinning and being you always!”

Alex went on to express her excitement to reunite with Neil on the Strictly Come Dancing nationwide tour next year.

She also thanked professional dancer Kevin Clifton for stepping in and dancing with her for two weeks, while Neil was injured.

Alex and Neil’s journey came to an end last weekend after an intense dance-off against Chris Ramsey and Karen Hauer.

The pair performed their Samba routine for a second time, but head judge Shirley Ballas opted to save Chris after her fellow judges’ decisions were split.

Following the news of their departure, Neil also took to Instagram to gush over his time with Alex.

Part of his lengthy caption read: “Joyful joyful was the perfect song to end our @bbcstrictly journey together because from the first moment we started together that’s how u have made me feel.”(sic)

He added: “From day 1 I have taken my time to get to know you @alexscott2 MBE as I really wanted to make sure that you enjoyed every moment.

“All I can say is the nation has seen the real you. I’ve said it a million times that you have made me proud and you have made me smile.

“Of course I was there to teach you how to dance but you taught me sooooo much more and the biggest lesson I learnt was to always be myself and never change.”(sic)

The professional dancer went on to say he was “sad” the duo were no longer going to be in rehearsals together, but expressed his hopes of a reunion.

“I’m just sad I’m not teaching you a new dance in the morning unless we could just dance together for fun and giggles,” he concluded.

During their time on the show, the pair were queried about their relationship after he was pictured outside her home.

The former dancing duo, who are both single, have continuously insisted they are no more than friends.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine together, Neil said: “There’s nothing on our minds but the show – we don’t have time to think about anything else.

“I’m single but I haven’t even thought about dating. Coming out of a long-term relationship I’m just focusing on Strictly.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
