Billie Shepherd says mum Suzie hasn’t ‘felt herself’ as she details menopause struggles

Billie Shepherd has opened up about her mum Suzie's struggles with the menopause, admitting that she hasn't "felt herself" for a while and has been suffering with her symptoms.

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Billie, 32, spoke to her mum about her experience with the menopause during tonight's episode of Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries, with the duo heading out for a low-key lunch together.

Prompting her mum to open up, Billie asked: "How are you feeling mum, with everything?" Suzie then explained: "Just trying a few different things… Nothing seems to be working at the moment."

Speaking to the camera on the show Billie, who stars on The Family Diaries alongside her husband Greg, 37, and their two children, Nelly, seven, and Arthur, five, said: "My mum's going through the menopause at the moment and it really has been a struggle for her."

Billie and Suzie, who is also mum to younger daughter Sam Faiers, 31, then spoke about Suzie's symptoms as they tucked into their meals.

The 53 year old detailed how she's experienced hot flushes and sweats over recent months, and has been struggling to sleep while also "forgetting everything".

Mum-of-two Billie, who is currently pregnant with her third child, went on to say that she found it "sad" to think of her mum suffering.

"She hasn't felt herself for quite a whole now and it's quite sad to think that she's suffering," the ex-TOWIE star said to the camera.

After talking about how good it is now that people open up about their experiences with the menopause, Billie suggested that her mum see a specialist, stating that "enough is enough".

Suzie agreed, and told how she's spoken to people who are on HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), hinting that it could be a potential treatment option.

"Mum's got so much to give and she loves lie, but when you're feeling so unbalanced and not well it's really difficult to be focused," Billie said. "I really want to help mum."

Elsewhere in the Wednesday's episode of The Family Diaries, Billie shared first-hand details from her sister Sam's "incredible" home birth for her third child Edward, who was born in May.

Billie and her mother Suzie, who were both at the birth, can be seen shopping for baby clothes just shortly after Edward's arrival as they discuss Sam's home birth.

Suzie says: "One week old tomorrow morning! That was amazing that birth though, I mean all births are amazing but…"

Prompting Billie to praise her sister, saying: "She just did amazingly, not even gas and air! Like, that was crazy!" Suzie then pointed out: "I think she just gets herself into the zone, doesn't she?"

"Samantha is really calm, she's quite good at self control with all her breathing," Billie said.
