Caprice Bourret: Dancing on Ice star’s new show partner breaks silence on replacing Hamish

Dancing on Ice 2020 viewers will see Caprice Bourret, 48, return to the ice with her new skating partner Oscar Peter, 38, tonight after being mysteriously absent from the show last weekend. Ahead of their first live performance together this evening, the professional figure skater broke his silence about performing with the star.

The ITV show shared a video of Caprice’s new partner introducing himself on Twitter.

“Hey there, it’s Oscar Peter,” he began. “I’m officially joining the Dancing on Ice family this weekend as Caprice’s partner.”

He added: “I cannot wait for you to see our first performance together on the ice.”

“See you soon,” he concluded.

The businesswoman shared the tweet in view of her 27,000 followers writing: “Oscar and I hope everyone likes our routine #excited and #nervous for Sunday #cantwait.”

Earlier this week, she also gave her fans an insight into training on Instagram.

The mother-of-two shared a Boomerang clip of her spinning on the ice in view of her 24,000 followers.

She wrote: “5am start spinning into the morning with a bang #letsdothis hope everyone has a great day.”

Caprice spoke out about her new skating partner for the first time on Twitter earlier this week after the pair were spotted heading to training together.

The Dancing on Ice contestant responded to a Twitter user who shared a video of Oscar performing on an ice rink.

The person in question wrote: “@dancingonice @victoriasanusi @BritBlacklist @BlackBalladUK @ronkelawal.

“Could this be the new partner for @CapriceBourret_ If so I’ve no complaints I (and #BlackTwitterMovement) am definitely be here for it.”

Caprice responded to the tweet, writing: “It certainly is and he is amazing.”

The ITV contestant also replied to a Twitter user who asked her who her new skating partner is.

She wrote: “Oscar Peters he is amazing.”

Last week, Dancing on Ice hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield told viewers Caprice and Hamish will no longer be skating together.

The duo said: “Unfortunately Caprice and Hamish have parted ways and will not be skating this week.

“As you saw in our opening number, Hamish remains very much part of our professional team and we hope to have Caprice back on the ice next week.”

Following the shock announcement, viewers queried if the model will return the show.

A representative for ITV later said: “We’re pleased to say that Caprice is back on the ice today in training and very much working towards returning to the show on Sunday night.”

Reports have since claimed that the pair fell out during rehearsals, but neither Caprice or Hamish have addressed these claims.

Dancing on Ice continues tonight at 6pm on ITV.
