Chadwick Boseman’s older brother Kevin has revealed he is in remission after fighting his own battle with cancer.
Black Panther star Chadwick sadly died in August at the age of 43 after quietly battling colon cancer for four years.
And earlier this month, his brother revealed he was celebrating two years of being in remissions from cancer.
The 48-year-old shared the news on his Instagram Story on October 14 in a screenshot captured by The Shade Room.
‘Today marks my official two-year remission anniversary. October 14, 2020,’ Kevin wrote. ‘I was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and underwent four rounds of chemotherapy. I’m in remission!!!!! You read right. I am in remission.’
The NYC-based dancer and choreographer added that he shared the news ‘because while it’s been a year of profound loss and tragedy for so many of us, this is good news,’ according to TheGrio.

He continued: ‘Something to smile about. Something to shout about. I hope you’re smiling and shouting with me.
‘Cancer is something most of us have no control over. We can only control our responses to it, which includes being proactive about our healthcare both physically and mental.’
Kevin added: ‘Tomorrow is not promised and early detection saves lives. Health is wealth. True wealth.’

The dancer’s remission anniversary came less than two months after his younger brother’s tragic death.
Both Kevin and his brother Pastor Derrick Boseman opened up about their grief weeks after the actor died.
In their last conversation Chadwick – who they affectionately called Chad – told Pastor Derrick: ‘Man, I’m in the fourth quarter, and I need you to get me out of the game.’
While Pastor Derrick asked what that meant, he quickly realised that Chadwick was ‘ready to go’ after growing tired with the cancer fight.

‘When he told me that, I changed my prayer from, “God heal him, God save him”, to “God, let your will be done”.
‘And the next day he passed away,’ Pastor Derrick told the New York Times.
He added: ‘No matter what he was going through, he always said, “Hallelujah”. He never stopped saying it.’
Kevin also said: ‘I have been trying to remember Chad and not Chadwick. And there’s just been a lot of Chadwick in the air.’
