Chloë Opens Up About Her Mental Health Journey

Chloë Bailey is prioritizing her mental health.

The pop star opened up about preserving her mental health while living “under a microscope” during an appearance on Tha God’s Honest Truth with ‘Charlamagne’ Tha God. Bailey, 23, also revealed some of the changes she recently made to put herself first when dealing with social media.

“I am learning that I have to be full before I can give myself to others,” she said. “My mental health is very important. And when you constantly feel like you have to please people and put others before you, you will start to feel very insecure. I’m learning that it’s OK to put myself first sometimes, and I will only give out love and only share love and then just keep it at that.”

The “Have Mercy” singer also revealed that she is taking a break from her Twitter account because it’s “literally comments just all in your face the whole time.”

“I have my burner Twitter that I still go on to watch funny videos. I have my TikTok. I’ll go on my video ones and I love Instagram. But Twitter, I was like, ‘Let me just take a break from Twitter,'” she said.

“I’m finding myself right now and figuring out what serves me best. I’m just doing it under a microscope. All of you all get to do it without everyone watching,” she added, addressing the audience.

In a joint interview with her sister Halle Bailey, Chlöe told Bazaar.com that she’s still figuring out how to prioritize self-care while she’s working, and mentioned her skin care routine as one of the ways she relaxes.

“If I’m going to be completely transparent, I’m still learning how to take time out for myself and to care for me,” she said. “I think we both are, to find the balance of working hard and also taking care of our mental health.”
