Britain’s Got Talent judge and long-time comic David Walliams was reportedly wowed by an “out of this world” would-be star during auditions this week. However, he soon stole the show from the BGT hopeful with a cheeky quip about where to send the shamed Prince Andrew.

I think we can agree Prince Andrew can go up in the spaceship

The now-notorious scandal began when Virginia Giuffre accused the royal of sexual abuse when she was 17-years-old.

Andrew is said to have caused the royal family some embarrassment due to the allegations, which he will now face as a private citizen after being stripped of his titles.

As a lawsuit looms, David couldn’t help but aim a shot at the tricky situation, quipping: “I think we can agree Prince Andrew can go up in the spaceship.”

Despite taking the opportunity to slam Prince Andrew, David nonetheless seemed impressed by the BGT hopeful who arrived in the UFO.

However co-judges Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden – who had dressed to impress in a tangerine orange trouser suit and a neon yellow dress with side splits, respectively, when auditions first kicked off – were not enamoured.

After the singer, who called herself Flexy Beats, performed alongside dancers who masqueraded as aliens, she was buzzed off.

A painfully blunt Alesha advised her: “I think you should go back in your spaceship.”

Though David might have found his own dig at Andrew amusing – as well as the implication that he should be banished by the Queen – fellow talent show host Simon Cowell had other ideas.

The judge is known as TV’s notorious Mr Nasty and isn’t keen on comic David eyeing up his title – and he has warned him about his words in the past.

David had previously poked fun at Simon for apparently not knowing what a Millionaire Shortbread biscuit was, and teasingly branded him out of touch.

Simon didn’t find the joke funny, and proceeded to warn him that a loose tongue could get him fired.

“I’d be careful if I were you,” he warned.

“You’ll be out of a job and end up a contestant on Pointless next year!”

It isn’t the first time the pair have exchanged some acerbic wit on the show together.

After Simon’s recent proposal to girlfriend Lauren Silverman, with whom he shares a son named Eric, David mocked how long he had taken to pop the question.

It follows coverage in the media about how unlikely it seemed that the previously marriage-shy 62-year-old would ever settle down into domesticated life.

However, Simon shot back, referring to the failed five-year marriage between David and supermodel Lara Stone: “Hopefully my marriage will last longer than yours!”

BGT auditions continue at the London Palladium, with a new series expected to air in the spring.
