Deborah James’ heartbreak as she ‘fights to stay awake and do death admin list’

Deborah James has revealed that she is fighting to stay awake so that she complete her 'death admin list.'

This comes after the heartbreaking news that the BBC podcaster has been moved onto end of life care for Bowel cancer.

Deborah, now 40, was just 35 years old when she diagnosed with stage three bowel cancer in December 2016, which later turned into stage four.

Deborah raised awareness for cancer throughout her journey, starting a podcast and a column for The Sun.

She shared with her Instagram followers that her "body wasn't playing ball" and that she is now receiving hospice care at home.

In her final episode of podcast, You, Me and the Big C she told producer Mike Holt: "I’m currently in the stage of doing death admin.

"I remember distinctively Rachel talking about it and saying 'god when you die there is a lot of death admin to do'.

"There’s things that I knew I wanted to do and recording one last thing with you was one of them."

The star also spoke about how she is around three quarters through her list, but one thing that needed sorting is a book she has been writing.

Titled F*** You Cancer: How to Face the Big C, Live Your Life and Still Be Yourself, Deborah is now unsure if the book will ever be published as she may not have months left to live.

In an interview with BBC earlier this week, Deborah, also known as the BowelBabe, opened up about how she wishes she could have "more life."

The journalist said: "I've always said I don't want to leave any stone unturned – I don't think there isn't a stone we haven't tried to un-turn to make my liver work again in order to get my body functioning.

"Unfortunately I'm exhausted – I'm absolutely exhausted. We've got to the point now where I can't really do anything more."

She also insisted that she isn't "angry" over her treatment because she tried everything she could.

In Deborah's 'final' column for The Sun she spoke about the incredible donations her BowelBabe fund received since its launch on Monday writing: "In just 16 hours we’ve already raised a staggering £1.1million [the amount at the time of writing].

"I’m just blown away, never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d hit that total in just 16 hours."
