Dolly Parton Weighs In On Who Should Portray Her In Potential Biopic

It looks like Dolly Parton has some ideas about who would be the right choice to portray her in the event of a biopic about her life and career being made.

Parton spoke about likely choices that could fit the role during an interview for Elle‘s new Women in Hollywood issue.

“That depends on when I get it done,” she told the magazine. Later on she said that both Scarlett Johansson and Reese Witherspoon come across as likely choices to depict her on the big screen.

Johansson has played roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, while Witherspoon played country legend, June Carter, in the 2005 film Walk the Line.

Although there is no movie about Parton in the works at present, the country legend has a production deal with Netflix for a series, “Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings” that will explore the stories behind her songs.

An original musical, titled Christmas in the Square, is also likely by the end of the year.
