Dominic West and Lily James Could Be Fined For What Happened in Rome

Actors Dominic West and Lily James made headlines for their PDA-packed trip to Rome, but according to new reports, they could be facing consequences for all the fun they were having. The duo were in the Eternal City to film The Pursuit of Love, but were spotted riding a scooter together, which may come with a hefty fine if local law enforcement decides to press charges.

Reports state that their scooter ride is against highway code and their lack of social distancing goes against new laws established to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. While there aren't specific details about exactly how much they might have to pay, a local councilor explained it all to The Sun.

"The law is quite clear — riding tandem on an e-scooter is forbidden. It's a breach of the highway code and a breach of the new Covid laws," councilor Stefano Marin told The Sun. "You are supposed to maintain social distance and riding tandem on a scooter is not keeping social distance. Now we have been made aware of this, we shall be investigating. The law is equal for all."

After photos of their affectionate outings surfaced, West and his wife, Catherine FitzGerald, told reporters that their marriage remains strong and that the two of them are still together. James hasn't made any comments about the situation, though she did cancel multiple appearances to promote her latest Netflix film, Rebecca.
