Rock star Eddie Money has canceled his summer tour dates after it was determined he’d developed pneumonia after his recent heart valve surgery.
According to a publication, the “Two Tickets to Paradise” singer, 70, was slated to join Rick Springfield on tour, but after complaining of “shortness of breath,” he nixed his dates to recover.
Unfortunately, according to his rep, Money came down with pneumonia following the surgery.
“Eddie Money developed pneumonia while in the hospital after his heart valve procedure,” his rep said. “He is now on the mend, but, unfortunately, he had to cancel his summer concerts – a first for him in his 40-plus year career.”
The popular musician, who also stars on the AXS reality TV show Real Money with his wife Laurie and five kids, has not commented on his illness or tour plans.
But his rep says he is hoping he will be ready to return later this year to promote his new album Brand New Day and Real Money.
