Gemma Collins backs Michael Barrymore for Dancing On Ice after he says she could be famous

Gemma Collins has backed comedian Michael Barrymore to win the next season of Dancing On Ice after the 67 year old said she could be famous.

The Diva Forever star spent Tuesday morning back on the ice as she did her warm up with Hollyoaks star Ray Quinn, preparing for her Christmas Special return.

Later in the afternoon Gemma had lunch with comedian Michael Barrymore, who she lovingly sang to as he shied away.

Sharing a second clip on her Instagram, Gemma panned the camera on Michael as he jokingly said: "For the first time in my life I feel embarrassed."

The 38 year old, who now comes available in the form of Christmas wrapping paper, then spun the camera back around to face them both as she said:"For those of you that remember Michael Barrymore…

"He's absolutely hilarious, he said to me he thinks I could be famous if I had half a bit confidence and a megaphone.

"Guys get behind him, let's vote for him on Dancing On Ice."

She jokingly added: "He's absolutely terrible apparently… No, I'm only joking."

The reality star is returning for the Christmas Special of the ITV show following the epic fall, which saw her land flat on her face on live TV.

The behind-the-scenes look into the Dancing On Ice rehearsals came after she shared a video from the show's dress-run.

Gemma showed off her incredible bright pink princess ball gown costume as she glided on the ice. Speaking to her 1.5million followers, she joked: "I can confirm I haven't fallen yet."

This Morning star Holly Willoughby recently reflected on Gemma's performance last year as she called the Essex beauty's fall "spectacular".

Speaking to her co-host Phillip Schofield, who's recently been under fire for creating a "toxic atmosphere" on the show, Holly said: "She likes a skate. She actually did really well.

"There was the moment [when she fell last series] and nobody wants anybody to get hurt and thankfully the reason this is okay to speak about is because she didn’t get hurt but she did give us one of the most spectacular falls ever."

This comes after Gemma recently revealed the real secret behind her three stone weight loss.

Gemma said: "I’ve lost three stone now and I feel better than ever. But Christmas is the month of temptation and it is a struggle to be good.

"At this time of year people say, ‘Oh I’ll have a mince pie’ but by the time you’ve got to Christmas Day, you’ve put on two stone."

She added to The Sun Online: "My car is literally full of cheese but it’s great because it’s helped me be more disciplined. I always try to have everything in moderation now."
