Gilroy Garlic Festival attendee Teresa Giudice ‘heartbroken’ over shooting

Teresa Giudice, like other celebrities, is grieving for those affected by the shooting at the Garlic Festival in Gilroy, California which left 15 people injured three killed.  

The wounded were taken to multiple hospitals, and their conditions ranged from fair to critical. At least five have been treated and released.

Giudice, a cast member on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” who has also authored cookbooks attended the event as a celebrity chef Saturday. In a video previously shared to Facebook about her appearance, Giudice said she was “looking forward to it” and that it would be her first time at the event. 

Sunday, she shared her condolences on Instagram saying she was left “truly heartbroken” after learning of the news. 

“I was at the festival yesterday with wonderful staff, volunteers and many many families & I’m flooded with thoughts of them now as they navigate this tragic situation,” she wrote. “Prayers and love to the community of Gilroy tonight.”

Chef Gerron Hurt, who won the ninth season of “MasterChef” last year and was a celebrity chef on the schedule for Friday, thanked those who checked in. 

“Want to give a big thanks to everyone who has checked in on myself and Brandi!” he tweeted, referencing his wife. “We are good! We left Saturday morning. You guys are amazing. #prayingforgilroy”

Meanwhile, celebrity Scooter Braun offered his prayers to “all those in Gilroy tonight.

“This is unfortunately becoming and has been all too common,” he tweeted. “Thankful for all the first responders on the scene. Our thoughts and prayers being sent tonight.

“Star Trek” alum George Takei made a call for “#GunControlNow.”

“Waking up to news of the mass shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in CA,” he posted to Twitter. “One killed was a six year old boy who ‘had his whole life still ahead of him,’ said his dad. We have failed him and all victims of gun violence.”

Actor/director Chad Lowe tweeted that “We have a mental health crisis in our country,” and also asked for “#GunControlNow.”

Actor Bradley Whitford brought up background checks.
