Gogglebox star Paige Deville has revealed she has quit the show.

The 24 year old star, who appears regularly on the show with her mum Sally, took to Twitter on Friday to announce the news and accused show bosses of “zero aftercare”.

She wrote in a tweet: “I have made the decision to walk away from Gogglebox.

“It’s been an experience but one I cannot continue with due to long hours of filming, restrictiveness, control of our actions and opinions & zero aftercare support but hey who cares about ex cast, their NTA winners.”

Gogglebox fans were sad to hear that Paige will no longer star on the hit show, with one person saying: “Sad to hear you're leaving, wishing you the best of luck for the future."

Another said: "I loved you and your mum on Gogglebox. Shame to see you go but you have to do what's right for you."

A third fan wrote: "Sad to hear Paige Deville and her mum Sally are leaving Gogglebox! I love their sense of humour and witty comments. Good luck for the future."

Paige and mum Sally joined the show in 2019 and it is now unclear if Sally will continue to star on the show.

The news of Paige's departure comes hours before the show returns to screens tonight at 9pm.

OK! has contacted Channel 4 for comment.

While the show is returning tonight, there are some stars who won’t be seen on screen.

Channel 4 bosses have confirmed that five stars of the show have decided to step away following the loss of their loved ones.

Mary Cook, Pete McGarry and Andy Michael passed away in recent months and after struggling with the loss of the stars, their loved ones will not be returning to the programme.

Executive producer Victoria Ray confirmed the news to Daily Star as she said: "We have had people from the show pass away recently."

She continued: "We lost Mary and Andy, and a little while ago we lost Pete. Their loved ones won't be taking part in the show for the moment. Understandably, they want their privacy."

Victoria added that the option to return to the show is there for them should they wish to reprise their roles.

Pete, who fostered 100 children with his partner, passed away in June at age of 71 with his family by his side following a short illness. Understandably, his widow Linda will not be returning without him.

Just two months later, Andy died at the age of 61 following a short illness. His widow Carolyne and their two children Alex and Louis will not be coming back to the show either.

Mary passed away last month at the age of 92 and her best friend Marina Wingrove decided to take a step back from the show, too.
