Graham Norton has revealed he's convinced Phillip Schofield has a secret boyfriend hidden away somewhere.

This Morning host Phillip, 58, announced he is gay in an emotional confession back in February this year, but insisted he "hasn't discussed divorce" with his wife Stephanie Lowe, despite moving out of the family home.

Now, Irish comedian Graham has offered his own opinion on the star's relationship status, 10 months after he came out.

The 57 year old told Chris Evans on his Virgin Radio How To Wow podcast: "I imagine Pip has some secret boyfriend squirrelled away somewhere. I'm sure he has. I don't know Pip. I don't know why I'm calling him Pip.

"I remember what it was like keeping that secret when I was a kid. To keep that secret for presumably 30-40 years, what that does to you. It's so strange."

Phillip previously confessed he knew he was gay when he married his 55 year old wife Stephanie in 1993, but told The Sun Online that that his sexuality "wasn't a consideration" in his head.

Speaking about his thoughts and feelings from that time, he explained: "I am not saying I didn’t know. Whatever was 'there' I thought, 'OK, whatever this is, you stay back because I am happy.'"

However, chat show host Graham claims Phillip decided to come out because "people needed to know".

Discussing his own experience with announcing his sexuality, he continued: "There are no rules in this thing.

"When I didn't know, I didn't know, because I didn't know what it was. I wasn't aware of sexuality or the spectrum of sexuality, I didn't understand you could be attracted to different people.

"But I guess as you get older you've got more of a vocabulary for all of that stuff so you should be able to name things. But there are no rules."

Graham went on to explain that there simply is no right time, place or situation to come out as he added: "There is no right time to come out.

"I think people talk about coming out as a very simplistic thing. I've come out now. And you don't.

"You constantly have to come out."
