Grimes’s Mom Calls Out Elon Musk for a “Bulls**t” Tweet

Mother’s Day has come and gone, but let’s all still take a moment to praise Grimes’s mom, Sandy Garossino.

Her time to shine came just a few weeks after the birth of her grandchild, X Æ A-12. The drama began to unfold when little X’s dad, Palo Alto’s infamous Elon Musk, tweeted, “Take the red pill,” a seemingly innocuous reference to the 1999 sci-fi action thriller The Matrix. However, the cryptic phrase has been co-opted by right-wing groups, white supremacists, and men’s rights activists, who use the metaphor as a discreet way of representing the awakening of oneself to the tenets of extreme conservatism. Fueling the fire, Ivanka Trump replied to Musk’s tweet with an annoying “Taken!”

This is where Garossino popped into the picture. In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote, “If your partner went through a challenging pregnancy and childbirth in the last two weeks… And you were over 16 years old, Would you be blaring MRA bullshit on Twitter right now?”

When another user commented on Musk’s tweet, “Buddy has a 3 week old baby. Maybe step away from the broflakes,” Garossino was quick to quip back, “Not yet 2 weeks old.” Musk, can we get you some aloe vera for that burn?

Grimes’s mom wasn’t the only one giving him flak either. Lilly Wachowski, the co-writer and co-director of The Matrix, responded to Trump and Musk’s little interaction with a hearty “Fuck both of you.”

It’s maybe not all too surprising that Musk continues to churn out bad take after bad take on Twitter. In another recent incident, Musk matter-of-factly corrected Grimes for misnaming an aircraft just days after she gave birth.

While explaining the meaning of their child’s name, the “Violence” singer wrote that the “A-12” was a “precursor to SR-17.” Musk tweeted back, “SR-71, but yes.”

Grimes replied, “I am recovering from surgery and barely alive so may my typos b forgiven but, damnit. That was meant to be profound.”

We wonder what Mama Garossino thought of that one.
