Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have officially tied the knot, which means that Shelton is now a stepdad to Stefani’s three sons. Stefani paid homage to Shelton and her boys in honor of the newfound family via some subtle yet gorgeous details in the wedding. Before Shelton came along, Stefani was married to British musician Gavin Rossdale. The two exchanged vows in 2002 and remained together until their divorce in 2015. Fans of the rock singers saw them as one of Hollywood’s hottest couples, but the marriage was not without its troubles. Rossdale’s infidelity ultimately led to his split from the No Doubt singer after 13 years together.
During their marriage, Stefani and Rossdale welcomed three sons into the world. They had their oldest boy, Kingston Rossdale, in 2006, followed by son Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale in 2008. Their youngest son, Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale, arrived in 2014.
Despite their rocky split, Stefani and Rossdale remained in contact to co-parent their sons. In 2019, Rossdale told In Touch Weekly that he and Stefani have been doing “the best we can” to raise the kids.
“It was a lovely 20 years, and we have three amazing children. There were a lot of positives, and with time they’ll become more and more obvious,” he said. “The unconditional love she shows me is so powerful. It’s one of the greatest gifts, and I’m grateful for her every day.”

Stefani brought her sons with her down the aisle in the form of some stunning embroidery on her wedding ensemble. As Entertainment Tonight reported, the first Vera Wang “lily white silk georgette” gown featured a chapel-length veil with the family’s names embroidered in the hem. “Blake, Gwen, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo” could be seen in white gothic-style lettering flanked by white roses.
For the reception, Stefani sported another Vera Wang gown: a strapless silk crepe mini dress with crystal and sequined foliage embroidered from the waist to the hem of the skirt. This time, Stefani honored her sons with three baby love birds hidden in the embroidery. She represented herself and Shelton with two more hand-sewn love birds.
Stefani and Shelton stuck with country styles for the Oklahoma wedding
Details about Stefani and Shelton’s private wedding slowly trickled in after the weekend celebration. The two married at Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma in a chapel that he built specifically for the nuptials. Stefani posted a few photos of the beautiful event on her Instagram account, showing off her dresses and some of the scenery. In one photo, Shelton and Stefani shared a kiss beside a gorgeous tiered wedding cake.
While Stefani honored her family in her outfits, she and Shelton were also sure to pay homage to Shelton’s country roots. In the photos, Shelton could be seen rocking a pair of classic dark wash blue jeans with a black tuxedo jacket, a vest, and a white shirt. Meanwhile, Stefani sported ankle-high white cowboy Stiletto boots for the reception.
All in all, it looked like the couple had a blast on their big day.
