Also speaking of The Lion King Starring Beyoncé Knowles, yes, “Spirit” is on the soundtrack to the movie. And you know what that means: Beyoncé! Is! Getting! An! Oscar!
In fact, she’s actually producing The Lion King’s entire soundtrack, which will be released later this month when the film hits theaters. “The Lion King: The Gift, an album featuring global artists & steeped in the sounds of Africa, produced & curated by @Beyonce Knowles-Carter, will release 7/19,” Disney said a Twitter statement. “‘Spirit,’ the single from the album & soundtrack for The Lion King, will be available tonight.”

Genuinely delighted that Beyoncé’s curated soundtrack is called The Gift. Like, no name has been more accurate. And get this: Director Jon Favreau had previously said that Beyoncé wrote a song “in the spirit of the production” for the movie, WHICH WORKS ON SO MANY LEVELS in retrospect.
Anyway, Twitter is having an absolute meltdown over “Spirit,” and is accurately pointing out the fact that Beyoncé’s clearly about to win all the awards.
