I’m A Celeb’s Matt Hancock abandons Gina to fly home solo as he stays to ‘cash in on fame’

Gina Coladangelo, the girlfriend of former Health Secretary Matt Hancock, has been snapped at the airport as she flies back to England solo, following her partner's stint in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Arriving at the airport Gina, 45, queued alongside Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott and her fiancée Shelly Unitt, while Matt, 44, was nowhere to be seen.

Despite flying solo, the lobbyist was all smiles as she made her way through the airport. Sporting a casual look, she donned a white sleeveless top alongside a pair of blue baggy jeans.

She teamed the outfit with two camel-coloured handbags and accessorised with a white watch and a pair of sunglasses.

Leaving his girlfriend to fly back to the UK alone, Matt is said to be staying in Australia to "cash in on fame."

Speaking to The Mirror, a source close to the MP said: "Matt was due to go home on Tuesday afternoon Australian time with lots of the other contestants and Gina.

"But he left her to fly home alone so he could make more money with a big interview. Gina was lucky winner Jill and Shelly took her under their wing and they stayed with her in the queue."

Ahead of his jungle appearance, the MP had written in The Sun about his decision to join the reality show, where he said: "As soon as my time in camp is up, I will return to Suffolk to hold a surgery where I will catch up with my constituents and discuss matters of concern."

This was clearly not the case, as he left the jungle at around 8am Australian time, and has already extended his stay.

Since departing the jungle he has been partying and catching up with this year's cohort of campmates.

He also declined to answer when he will be returning to his job as an MP, and when asked about this simply smiled and held Gina's hand as they headed back to their room.

As the pair reunited following Matt's jungle exit they were said to be "unable to keep their hands off" each other, and were even compared to "a pair of teenagers."

A source told The Sun: "Gina could not stop looking at her man and they were like teenagers in the honeymoon phase.

"Matt kept brushing his hand over Gina’s back and they were totally in their own love bubble. They were all over each other for 20 minutes and they did not care who saw."

This, however, has not stopped the MP from extending his stay, with Gina flying home alone.
