Jennifer Aniston Shared the 'Perfect' Salad Recipe That She and 'Friends' Cast Ate Every Day for 10 Years

Eating the exact same thing every day for a decade sounds terrible to anyone who likes variety in their diet. But the women on the cast of Friends did this exact thing joyfully with one very special dish, which they nicknamed the “Jennifer Salad.”

Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, andLisa Kudrow wereincredibly close during the show’s heyday and after. During an NBC behind-the-scenesspecial in 2016, the three women even admitted that they ate the exact same saladevery day on set.

This is no ordinary salad, however. It contains Aniston’sspecial touch that all three of the women just couldn’t get enough of.

The ‘Friends’ cast formed lasting bonds

When Jennifer Aniston joined Instagram in 2019, the first thing she posted was a photo of herself with all her former Friends co-stars. No one who knows Aniston in real life was surprised by that — even 15 years after filming wrapped, these six friends remained close. Self magazine reported that it was because they just “really liked hanging out together.”

Aniston, Cox, and Kudrow all praised the director andeveryone involved in the production of Friends during the NBC special. But besides that, they also shared a veryinteresting tidbit about their eating habits on set.

Aniston, Cox, and Kudrow ate the same salad every day

“And we ate the same food: a Jennifer salad,” Cox explained. That was their daily lunch ritual for a decade.

In 2010, Cox revealedtheir treasured recipe for the perfect salad. “Jennifer [Aniston] and Lisa[Kudrow] and I ate lunch together every single day for 10 years,” she saidduring an interviewwith the LA Times.

“We always had the same thing — a Cobb salad. But it wasn’t really a Cobb salad. It was a Cobb salad that Jennifer doctored up with turkey bacon and garbanzo beans and I don’t know what. She has a way with food, which really helps.”

Common Cobb salad ingredients include lettuce, avocado, egg, bacon, blue cheese, tomatoes, chives, and black pepper.

Aniston still loveschowing down on salads

She may not be eating Cobb salads with her castmates anymore, but the Morning Show star changed her beloved salad recipe just a little bit. She shared a slightly altered version of the “Jennifer Salad” on the Living Proof Instagram account in 2015.

“My perfect salad – Bulgar, cucumbers, parsley, mint, red onion, garbanzo beans, feta cheese, & pistachios,” she wrote in the accompanying caption. Clearly, Aniston is a huge fan of those garbanzo beans, which featured in both her favorite salad recipes.

She makes healthy eatinga priority

Aniston is 50 but stilllooks 30 because of her smart approach to diet and exercise. The A-list actressprefers fresh, whole foods, organic produce, and healthy shakes. She avoidsprocessed foods and anything artificial.

However, Aniston isadamant that she doesn’t have any “rules” for food and admits to indulging in pasta occasionally. She’s also a huge fan of Mexican cuisine and went on record saying she’s “powerless”to resist homemade tortilla chips and guacamole.

The secret to her healthy living? Ten years of salads, of course!
