Jeremy Clarkson began designing his new home almost a decade ago and it is still not finished. The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host said he is currently living in the “smallest cottage in Britain”, while work on his new property continues at a very slow pace.

The 61-year-old lives and works on Diddly Squat farm in the Cotswolds, as seen in his popular Amazon series Clarkson’s Farm.

The father-of-three, who shares three grown up children with his ex wife Frances Cain, lives with his girlfriend of four years Lisa Hogan.

Jeremy pointed out that building your own home is a very long process and is far from idyllic in his latest newspaper article.

In the meantime, the 6ft 4in star is living in much smaller accommodation and joked that he is able to touch the walls of his living room at the same time.

In his column for the Sunday Times, Jeremy wrote: “I’ve been living these past three years in what is officially the smallest cottage in Britain.

“I can stand in the centre of the sitting room and touch all four walls.

“And I’m able to cook supper and go to the loo simultaneously.

“It was awful to begin with but now it’s intolerable,” he went on to add.

Before building work even began on the ex Top Gear host’s new home, he had the property redesigned numerous times before agreeing on the final design.

He then went on to outline a list of problems he had encountered when the building work eventually commenced.

Unfortunately, the completion date was delayed on several occasions for various different reasons, one of which was the coronavirus pandemic.

He is now hoping that the builders will be finished in time for Christmas, six months later than planned.

In order to get away from the building work at home and the constant decisions that need to be made with regards to the build, Jeremy booked a holiday.

He just got back from a relaxing week in Capri.

The feeling of calm did not last for long as the presenter was the victim of an Ant and Dec prank.

The TV duo spray painted the word “soil” on his farm shop and dumped compost on Jeremy’s Range Rover.

It is believed that the ensuing chaos was filmed for a sketch to be shown in a future episode of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

However, some reports thought it was the work of vandals.

Jeremy appeared to confirm that it was the Newcastle duo when he took to Twitter shortly after the incident.

“All b*****ks. It was Ant and Lard c**king about,” he wrote in view of his 7.5 million followers.
