Joe Sugg comforts Strictly’s Dianne Buswell after her trip home is cancelled

Dianne Buswell shares her first impressions of Joe in throwback

Joe Sugg will be spending Christmas with his girlfriend Dianne Buswell at home in the UK this year after her trip home to Australia was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Strictly pro was planning to spend the festive season with her loved ones but new tier 4 restrictions prohibited travel unless absolutely necessary.

Social media star Joe could be seen comforting his girlfriend in his latest Instagram snaps, as he spoke about the cancelled trip.

The former Strictly Come Dancing finalist donned a bright orange hat and slipped his face mask down to his chin to pose for a picture with Dianne by the river bank.

The red-hair professional dancer also sported a wooly hat and jumper as she nestled into her partner.

Joe informed his 5.4 million followers that he felt “sad” for Dianne and everyone else who was in “awful situations” this festive season.

“Sad for this one as she didn’t get to fly to Australia today because of Tier 4 n all that, (sic)” his post began.

“But we’re also thinking about everyone else too and their own awful situations and plans going to sh*t this Xmas.

“It’s important to remember you’re not alone in this and everyone is going through it or has been through it this year and everyone has their own way of coping and dealing with it. Looking to the future.”

He added: “But just remember that although it doesn’t feel like it’s temporary.. it is and one day we will all be back to normal again if we all buckle up and ride this horrible situation out.”

He signed off by reminding people to “check in” on their loved ones.

Many took to the comments section to share their thoughts and their love with the couple.

The 29-year-old’s girlfriend posted two red hearts alongside the post.

Strictly pro Karen Hauer added: “Sending love to you both.”

“I know she was looking forward to it..” said Johannes Radebe, expressing his sadness at the news.

“Yeah unfortunately I can’t see any of my family either because of tier 4 life. I understand the pain and how hard it is so I’m sending love, we’ll all get thru this together,”(sic) said a follower in a similar situation.

“That’s such a sweet message and well noted!!! It’s important to realise that it will be normal again at some point, it’s just the long wait that comes with it,” another added.

Over on her own account, Dianne posted a picture of the pair sitting under their Strictly-themed Christmas tree and opened up about the cancelled trip.

The Australian pro said it was “very sad and frustrating” that she wasn’t able to see her family.

The 31-year-old captioned her picture: “It was meant to be the night before I flew out to Australia to see the fam.

“It’s very sad and frustrating but so many of us are in similar positions this year if not worse.

“Sending love to everybody who can’t see their loved ones this Christmas! Silver lining is I get to stay and annoy this one a little longer than planned! And Australia I’ll be there as soon as I can,” she added.
