Kym Marsh’s soldier boyfriend snaps back after he’s accused of breaking rule in lockdown

Former Coronation Street Kym Marsh, 31, has shared a loved-up snap of herself and boyfriend Scott Ratcliff after seven months apart, due to his commitments in Afghanistan.

Kym gushed over her beau in a lengthy post on Instagram, writing: “Finally having a date night with my man!

“7 months apart but it’s amazing to see how our relationship has grown despite the distance.

“In these difficult times make time for each other. Grab the dinner or a drink together. Love each other.

“Appreciate each other. Let’s all do these things and we will all emerge stronger. Xx.”

One of Kym’s followers queried the pair’s reunion and asked why the pair were not social distancing.

The person in question wrote: “Not isolating separate then?”(sic)

From the actress’ account, Scott hit back: “Are you? I (Scott) quarantined on camp for 7 weeks before returning to the UK, then went through COVID screening before coming home.”

“I’m clean. Where does your hatred and sadness come from?”

According to The Sun, another Instagram user suggested the original poster may not understand the pair’s circumstances.

He replied: “You’re right! Impossible times.

“Nobody is trained or prepared for this. All we have is our spirit, love and positivity.

“We were apart for 7 months – I’m so lucky to be home and I will be isolating with Kym rather than alone in barracks – hopefully you’d afford my soldiers the same also?”

Scott also hit back at another Instagram user who told him to sort out his “dated” hair.

He replied: “Hey Lou. I’m (Scott) sorry my hair offends you. I have to blend a military cut with modern styles.

“I think people like peaky blinders right now, so I tried to emulate that.“

He added: “I’m sorry I’ve upset you so much. I hate to add to the stress you must be experiencing in these difficult times. I can be selfish sometimes.”

Meanwhile, Kym shared an emotional post about her late grandad to mark VE Day today.

Alongside a picture of her late grandad, she wrote: “This is my Grandfather: Private Walter Marsh, First Border Regiment, British Airborne.

“On this day, 75 years ago, he had survived glider assaults into Sicily and Normandy before becoming a Prisoner of War at Arnhem.

“My grandmother was told he was missing, presumed dead. She was pregnant with my dad and waited two months to learn of his survival.

“We are facing our own challenge in 2020 but what our older generation faced and overcame is simply unimaginable.”
