Love Island viewers ‘uncover’ evidence that the ITV2 series is ‘staged’

Love Island viewers are convinced that they have 'uncovered' evidence that the romance show is 'staged.'

It is not the first time TV watchers have been suspicious of the show manufacturing drama to make the villa seem more exciting but now fans have spotted a number of details which they believe confirms the ITV2 series is not 100 percent real.

Eagle-eyed fans believe they spotted the first sign of the series being fake when Ollie Williams' exit scene was aired.

After three days on the show, Ollie said his goodbyes to the boys and girls and he headed off to the bedroom to pack his suitcase.

After hugging it out with his tearful co-stars, he made his way to the door to exit the villa.

It's then that he pulled his suitcase out the door and headed down the path, leaving the villa forever.

Except fans were quick to notice he was still in his beach shorts and without shoes on when he exited.

Ollie hadn't bothered to get changed and put clothes or shoes on, given he was heading off somewhere else.

Fans felt this was odd, taking to Twitter to confess they believed something did not add up.

One viewer said: "Anyone else confused why Ollie left #loveisland without getting dressed or putting his shoes on? Just curious.."

Another agreed: "Where’s he off to with no shoes and top on?"

A third added: "Why isn't Ollie putting on any clothes to leave? Is it the rules that they only wear swimming costumes at all times?"

This was echoed by a fourth fan who said: "Is Ollie not gonna put some clothes on before he leaves?"

Suspicions were aroused again when Leanne Amaning and Mike Boeteng headed out on their first date.

Viewers who have an eye for detail realised that the beauty had an outfit change midway through the date – which they think confirms the scenes were made up.

On micro-blogged on Twitter: "Wait, Leanne never had that pink outfit on when leaving the villa but on the previous she has it back on when giving mike a massage."

Others mused: "Did anyone else notice Leanne and Mike’s outfits were different in the massage clips to the ones they left and came back in" and "Why has Leanne has an outfit change for the massages…?"

Some fans even felt that Mike and Leanne's conversation during their date was a little off.

One wrote: "These scripted scenes…how would it have taken them this long to discuss where they're from in Ghana"

Adding to fan theories was the results of the heart rate challenge – viewers think the results were rigged to cause more drama.

One fan wrote: "Connor and Callum’s Heart rates raised the most by Rebecca? Nah. That’s just the Love Island staff creating drama. Lies. Scripted"

Another posted: "This is so rigged, the other girls gonna go for the other Connor, so predictable it's scripted I'm convinced"

And another suggested: "Surely they know this is scripted to fit the producers storylines"

Love Island bosses insist that whatever happens between the Islanders is up to them and them alone.

A spokesperson said: "The opinions they have and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves."

* Love Island airs nightly at 9pm on ITV2
