Careworker furious after finding half-eaten McDonald’s burger from Uber Eats

A woman has blasted McDonald's over a half-eaten burger she received through delivery company Uber Eats.

Caretaker Amma Mensah was on her night shift when she ordered a Big Mac meal from McDonald's in Scunthorpe and picked Uber Eats to deliver the meal to the carehome she worked at.

But she was left fuming when she saw two large bites left on her Big Mac.

Amma said she threw away what was left of the burger without eating it and has now had her money refunded by Uber Eats.

She told Grimsby Live: "I couldn't believe it when I saw it. It was disgusting that someone had taken a bite out of the burger.

"We were hungry during the night shift and wanted to order some food, so I said we should use the Uber Eats app.  I've used it lots of times before without a problem."

Amma had placed an order of £21.50 from the Gallagher Retail Park branch with her two colleagues.

She said the food arrived quickly and it all seemed in perfect condition, until she opened the Big Mac box.

A regular Big Mac meal comes with a burger, drink and a side of fries for the price of £4.79, but Amma said she immediately saw that two sizeable bites had been taken out of her burger.

She immediately complained to both McDonalds and Uber, but said: "Uber said that there was nothing they could do and to call McDonald's instead.

"McDonald's said they had checked the CCTV and there didn't appear to be anything wrong with the burger when it was sent out."

Amma said she had since been refunded by Uber and was pleased to get her money back but would probably pick the food up herself instead next time.

Uber Eats and McDonald's both declined to comment on the mystery of Amma's disappearing burger.
